WillNotGetFooledAgain

The Sheraton Grand Chicago is the greatest value in the United State! The property is elegant and quietly located on the Chicago River and Lake Michigan! Alexandra Gale has continued the long history of an emphasis on Customer Service. On my most recent stay I was greeted by Michael, the doorman who loves his jobs, and always greets me with a smile and a handshake. He continually gets cabs for me and sends me on my way to my destination. The leadership is always ahead of the pack and has established a Uber and Lyft loading zone in order to avoid jams in the driveway. This is such a visionary move that I am hoping other properties will follow! Hugo greeted me with a smile and handshake at the front desk and announced they were able to Upagrade me. Other hotel thank me for my Platinum Elite status but none other makes me FEEL valued!! The battery on my thermostat was exhausted and Robert, from Maintenance, responded immediately. He to shook my hand and thanked me for staying at his property. Everette, at the front desk, helped me late at night. Again his care was so apparent. Rene’ in the SPG Lounge is one of the happiest ambassadors of good-will. He and I have actually become friends over my many years. We surpass the handshake and greet each other which a genuine Hug which always warms my soul!! He rides his bike to work in the clod and the heat of Chicago. He loves his job more than anyone I have ever met! Micaela Garza is the maid on the Member Floor (#30). Each morning she greets me with a smile and well-wishes for my day. Again she exudes happiness and we even sang “Don’t Worry Be Happy” during my recent stay. The maintenance of this property is impeccable. I have been retired for 7 years and have travellled all 50 States over those years. I stay exclusively at Starwood properties and at several others in Europe. The Grand in Chicago and Edinburgh are the BEST properties I have experienced over the years of paying for my own rooms! Thus I am Platinum annually and will continue if Marriott doesn’t alienate me with their ‘so called Improvements”.
